Nath & Nat Bridgewater
So, who are Nathan and Natalie Bridgewater?
Nathan and Natalie have been married for 13 years and are parents to three boys, Finn, Jude and Milo. With over 20 years of leadership experience between them, in 2008 they left behind the comfort of the ‘burbs and headed to the squeeze of Sydney’s eastern suburbs to pioneer a new church. Not your average, everyday move for a young family. But then, Nath and Nat have never sought to be average…
About Nathan
Born in Sydney, the eldest of six children, Nathan is the son of a preacher man. His parents, Mark and Bronwyn Bridgewater, are the senior and founding pastors of Eastcoast City Church in Sydney’s south. After studying fine arts at National Art School, Nathan supported his father to pioneer Eastcoast in 1995, during which he studied at Hillsong College. After graduating, he worked in IT and publishing, and also had the invaluable opportunity to spend a year as a part-time intern with Brian Houston.
For the next 10 years, Nathan developed a unique leadership skill set in both business and church life. Nathan and his wife Natalie became youth pastors at Eastcoast in 2001, a position they held for seven years. Nathan also served on his father’s financial and pastoral board, assisting in business and logistical areas of the church’s life.
About Natalie
Natalie was born in Venezuala and moved to Australia with her family at age five, growing up in Sydney’s northern suburbs. She was serving at Hillsong church when she met Nathan. Since completing her degree in media and communications at Macquarie University in 1996, Natalie has worked as a magazine journalist for some of Australia’s most well-known fashion and lifestyle titles. She is integrally involved in church leadership with Nathan, and has managed to balance the obligations of a demanding career and a thriving ministry—as well as being mum to four young boys.
It is this experience, combined with faith and determination, which prepared Nath and Nat to start Canvas in 2008. Canvas has been founded on a willingness to follow the call of Jesus to build His Church and participate in a transformational adventure. We would love you to join us.
